Follow the Trout Route
In 2025, the City of Preston received grants from the Taylor Family Foundation and Preston Area Community Foundation to create the “Trout Route”. The purpose of this project was to connect Preston’s Trailhead to its downtown community. Activities included creating a “Trout Route” map, new signage throughout the area (including the Welcome to Preston sign at the tennis courts), updating the downtown pocket parks with new benches, picnic tables and accessories, and the creation of a mural designed by Fillmore Central students and painted by Sarah Hutchison, art teacher at Fillmore Central. The mural will be installed in the pocket parks in Spring 2026. Stop by and check it all out!
