Community Board Openings

The City of Preston has the following open board seats.

  • Library Board – 4th Wednesday of each Month 6PM
  • Preston Park Board –  First Monday of each Month 5PM
  • Planning Commission – Third Monday of each Month 5PM
  • Tourism Board – Quarterly Meetings

Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants must:

  • Be a resident of the City of Preston

  • Be entitled to vote in any election

  • Be at least 21 years of age

Application Process:
Interested parties are invited to complete a City Board Interest Form.

How to Apply:

Winter Snow Rules

Winter Reminders

A friendly reminder that the following ordinances help ensure our ability to keep public streets and sidewalks safe and accessible.

-Snow and Ice must be removed from public sidewalks within 24hrs City Code 92.18

-No Vehicles or trailers shall remain standing on a public street more than 24 consecutive hours City Code 71.03

-Moving snow from private property onto or across a public streets is prohibited MN State Statute 169.42

-No Parking 2am-6am around the Courthouse square (Nov. 15-March 15) City Code 73

-Keep fire hydrants clear for emergency access

Consumer Confidence Report

The State of Minnesota requires public water suppliers to prepare annual water quality reports (Consumer Confidence Reports) for their customers. The reports tell where drinking water comes from, what’s in it, and how you can help protect it.

Notification of Service Line Materials Inventory

The water service line inventory is publicly available, and you can check the materials for your service line by visiting the Lead Inventory Tracking (LITT) you may also contact us at 507-765-2491 or Contact us Here.  To complete the service line inventory our system went door to door to visually inspect the water service line where it entered the home.  As of 10/1/2024 our inventory contains 1 lead, 27 galvanized requiring replacement, 18 unknown material, and 616 non-lead service lines.
