City Council Vacancy Notice

The Preston City Council has declared a vacancy for one council seat due to the resignation of a member. Because less than half of this member’s term remains, the Council reserves the right to appoint a replacement. The term for this seat will expire on December 31, 2026.

Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants must:

  • Be a resident of the City of Preston

  • Be entitled to vote in any election

  • Be at least 21 years of age

Application Process:
Interested parties are invited to complete a City Board Interest Form and submit a letter of interest.

Council Information:
Regular City Council meetings are held on the first and third Mondays of each month at 6:00 p.m. Councilmembers are annually appointed to serve on various boards, committees, and assignments as designated by the Council.

Deadline for First Consideration:
Applications received by October 10, 2025 will receive first consideration.
